May is upfronts month for network television — and for the past few days we have reported on what's new, renewed, and canceled at ABC, CBS, and Fox.
In this post, we'll look at the last of the four major networks, NBC.
New for the 2015/2016 Season:
Blindspot — A beautiful woman finds herself at the center of an investigation after climbing out of a duffel bag in the middle of Times Square in New York City with her memory wiped and no clue as to what the extensive tattoos on her body mean. The FBI begin to follow the road map on her body to reveal a larger conspiracy while bringing her closer to discovering the truth about her identity.
The Player — An action-packed Las Vegas thriller about a former military operative turned security expert who is drawn into a high-stakes game where an organization of wealthy individuals gamble on his ability to stop some of the biggest crimes imaginable from playing out. Can he take them down from the inside and get revenge for the death of his wife, or is it true what they say: The house always wins.
Shades of Blue — A tight-knit crew of police officers are effective at keeping the streets safe but are also corrupt when it comes to lining their pockets and protecting their own. When one of the officers (Jennifer Lopez) is forced to become a federal informant, she must decide between her own family’s welfare and that of her police family. (This was a direct-to-series order.)
Renewed:
The Blacklist (3rd season).
Chicago PD (3rd season).
Grimm (5th season).
Hannibal (3rd season).
Law & Order: SVU (17th season).
