Winners of the 2013 Audie Awards Announced

Mystery, Suspense and Thriller Book Awards

The winners of the 2013 Audie Awards were announced yesterday by the Audio Publishers Association, recognizing distinction in audiobooks and spoken word entertainment.

Many categories are represented, but two of interest to us — and the winners — are:

• Mystery: The Beautiful Mystery by Louise Penny; Read by Ralph Cosham (Macmillan Audio)

• Thriller/Suspense: Red, White, and Blood by Christopher Farnsworth; Read by Bronson Pinchot (Blackstone Audiobooks)

Several mysteries and crime novels won in other categories including:

• Children's Titles for Ages up to 8: The Great Cake Mystery by Alexander McCall Smith; Read by Adjoa Andoh (Listening Library)

• Original Work: Gun Church by Reed Farrel Coleman; Read by Joe Barrett and John Keating (Audible)

• Solo Narration — Female: The Boy in the Suitcase by Lene Kaaberbøl and Agnete Friis; Read by Katherine Kellgren (AudioGO)
