Silent Mercy by Linda Fairstein. An Alex Cooper Mystery. Dutton Hardcover, March 2011.
The history tour that the author takes the reader on is interesting, and provides a rich backdrop to the story, but Alex's involvement in the murder investigation often seems peripheral and non-essential, while the connection between the motive for the murders and the identity of the killer is a bit of a stretch.
