If you visited the Barnes&Noble website today you couldn't help but notice that the company has come out with a new version of its Nook eBook reader: the Nook Wi-Fi. Maybe the most surprising news is its price: $149. Among its features are a color touchscreen for navigation, free samples of any eBook sold by B&N, and the ability to share books for 14 days with friends. The press release has the complete details.
B&N also lowered the price of its existing Nook 3G Wireless and Wi-Fi to $199.
The Amazon Kindle, by comparison, looks positively dated and overpriced, not a good competitive combination.
