Department Q Trilogy (IFC Films)

IFC Films has announced that the three filmed adaptations of books in the Department Q series of crime novels by Jussi Adler-Olsen will open in select US theaters and be available to stream on June 17th, 2016.

The first in the series, The Keeper of Lost Causes (Danish title: Kvinden i buret), was published in 2011 and adapted into a 2013 film released in Europe. Two others followed, the adaptation of The Absent One in 2014 and this year's A Conspiracy of Faith.

Here's the logline from IFC:

Based on Jussi Adler-Olsen's international bestsellers, the riveting Department Q series introduces maverick detective Carl Mørck (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) who, after majorly botching an assignment, is relegated to reviewing cold cases. With his new partner Assad (Fares Fares) and secretary Rose (Johanne Louise Schmidt) the moody Mørck digs into shocking unsolved mysteries including the kidnapping of a high-ranking government official, a brutal prep school murder and a bloody message from two children presumed dead. A nonstop series of ingenious twists and shocking surprises keep the suspense simmering in these three stylish thrillers: The Keeper of Lost Causes,The Absent One and A Conspiracy of Faith.
