Telemystery News: Production on Fox's Prison Break 2016 to begin in April

Casting is nearly complete for the upcoming production of Prison Break, a 9-episode "special event" for Fox television. The original series ranks as one of our personal favorites.

Cast members Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, and Sarah Wayne Callies return as, respectively, brothers Michael and Lincoln Burrows and Dr. Sara Tancredi. At the end of the series run in 2009, Michael — knowing he's dying from an inoperable brain tumor — sacrifices himself to save Sara, so it was a neat trick for the screenwriters to come up with a way that he actually lived. And that's the premise of this new limited series. "When clues surface suggesting that Michael may be alive, Sara teams with Lincoln to engineer the series' biggest escape ever."

Joining the cast are many of the series' regulars, including T-Bag (Robert Knepper), C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar) and Sucre (Amaury Nolasco).

Production is expected to begin next month in Vancouver, with a premiere date either late this year or early next.
