TNT has announced the early renewal for a 13-episode seventh season of Rizzoli & Isles, to air Summer 2016.
Though this is the shortest season order since the first season of 10 episodes, there is no talk that the series will end next year. Now in its sixth season, it remains TNT's highest rated summer series.
Rizzoli & Isles, based on characters created by crime novelist Tess Gerritsen, stars Angie Harmon as Boston homicide detective Jane Rizzoli and Sasha Alexander as medical examiner Maura Isles.
