May is upfronts month for network television — and yesterday we reported on what's new, renewed, and canceled at ABC.
In this post, we'll focus our attention on what's happening at CBS.
New for the 2015/2016 Season:
Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders — FBI agents help American citizens who find themselves in trouble abroad. Heading the operation is Jack Garrett (Gary Sinese), a 20-year veteran of the Bureau, who is currently in charge of the FBI's top team for handling cases involving Americans abroad. A back-door pilot aired on February 8th as an episode of Criminal Minds.
Limitless — After Brian Sinclair (Jake McDorman) discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT, he is coerced into using his newfound drug-enhanced abilities to solve weekly cases for the FBI. Based on the 2011 film of the same title, which starred Bradley Cooper.
Rush Hour — A by-the-book Hong Kong police officer (Jon Foo) is assigned to a case in Los Angeles, where he's forced to work with a cocky black LAPD officer (Justin Hires) who has no interest in a partner. Based on the film of the same title, which starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.
Zoo — An adaptation of James Patterson's thriller that will air this Summer.
CBS hasn't yet officially announced for most of its series which will be renewed, but here's our best guess based on what we've heard:
Blue Bloods (almost certain to be renewed for a 6th season).
Criminal Minds (likely to be renewed for an 11th season).
CSI (looks iffy for a 16th season).
CSI: Cyber (looks iffy for a 2nd season).
Elementary (almost certain to be renewed for a 4th season).
Hawaii Five-0 (almost certain to be renewed for a 6th season).
NCIS: Los Angeles (likely to be renewed for a 7th season).
NCIS: New Orleans (2nd season).
Person of Interest (almost certain to be renewed for a 5th season).
Scorpion (2nd season).
Canceled (and likely to be Canceled):
Battle Creek (after 1 season).
The Mentalist (after 7 seasons).
NCIS (not official, but almost certain to be canceled after 12 seasons).
Unforgettable (after 3 seasons, but will return on A&E).
