Crime Scene Cleaner: The Complete Series on DVD

In this immensely popular German comedy, Bjarne Mädel stars as Heiko "Schotty" Schotte — a man whose work begins where others pass in horror. He's a contract cleaner, sent to sanitize crime scenes after the police have finished their investigations. A high school dropout, Schotty accepts his place in life and has dedicated himself to two things: finding a hot girlfriend and being the best crime scene cleaner in Germany. Schotty can tell you the difference between bloodstains, spatters and smears and the most effective chemical mixture to remove them from any surface, but he's not so much an expert on the opposite sex.

An everyman who loves football, fast cars and good beer, Schotty frequently encounters friends, family and acquaintances of the deceased who have a much less pragmatic approach to death than he does. But in the end, no matter the scope of the crime or the size of the mess, Schotty is there to clean it all up!

Ten episodes are included in this set. In German with English subtitles.

Marie's Mind for Murder: Set One on DVD

Inspector Marie Brand looks like she could be anyone's friendly aunt, but her nondescript looks belie phenomenal mental abilities. Her thinking is out-of-the-box scary: she sees physical inconsistencies at the crime scene immediately, she's constantly collecting details about everything and she always has a unique take on situations. Add to the mix that she's good at sensing when she's being lied to, and you've got the ideal murder investigator.

But after the death of her policeman father, she said goodbye to homicides — or so she thought. She finds herself back on the murder beat when she's called in to consult on a difficult case, working with the self-described ladies' man, Inspector Jürgen Simmel. Simmel can't wait to be rid of her, but his disdain turns into appreciation. It's a May/December pairing that works; he's tolerant of her eccentricities once he comprehends the scope of her brilliance, and she needs a little protection along with the common sense and physicality he brings to the equation. She's also happy to bring a blast of reality to his overblown perception of himself as the city's finest lady whisperer. Together, they're an entertaining German dream team, catching the murderers, criminals and crooks of Cologne.

This set includes Episodes 1-10. In German with English subtitles.

Nicolas Le Floch: Volume Two on DVD

Paris, 1761. Brilliant young Parisian police commissioner Nicolas Le Floch works under Monsieur de Sartine, the Royal Lieutenant General of Police. Louis XV's kingdom is plagued by conspiracies and murders. With the help of his faithful subordinate Bourdeau, Nicolas solves mysterious disappearances and sorts out awkward scandals. From seedy taverns to the muffled hallways of Versailles, from brothels to the Chatelet prisons, he tracks and stakes out suspects, questions witnesses, gathers evidence, foils traps, and unveils plotters.

Nicolas Le Floch plunges viewers into the mysteries of 18th century Paris, a world teeming with crime, debauchery and theft. The series is a successful blend of police intrigue and melodrama, as well as a portrayal of the period's social customs and humor. All of this is presented in great style. The characters are sensitive, original and deep. They show the eternal nature of man s passions, feelings … and crimes. In the end, no one could be more contemporary than Nicolas Le Floch, Police Commissioner at the Chatelet.

Episodes 7 through 10 are included in this set. In French with English subtitles.
