We've added a new event to our Mystery Calendar: the Mystery Writers Key West Fest, to be held June 13th through 15th in Key West, Florida.
Key West has been a long-time writers' haven — from Hemingway to Tennessee Williams. But it's also been an island of popular intrigue — from the mystery novels of Laurence Shames to Stuart Woods, John Leslie, Tom Corcoran, John Hersey, Thomas McGuane, and Robert Stone.
And now it's the setting for the Inaugural Mystery Writers Key West Fest, a gathering of nearly two-dozen premier South Florida true crime, mystery and suspense writers. This is a meet-and-greet where authors can meet and chat with their favorite mystery writers, collect autographs and attend panels where the authors explain how and why they do it.
From a Friday-night opening party populated with nearly two-dozen participating mystery writers … a day-long session filled with informative panels and luncheon with best-selling mystery and detective fiction author W.E.B. Griffin … a chance to win a "walk on" cameo role in an upcoming mystery story … a noir movie night, group book-signing event, bar-hopping with your favorite mystery writers, and free consultations with industry experts, you'll discover why everybody loves a good mystery. (See the complete schedule, here.)
For more information about the event, visit the conference website. The Mystery Writers Key West Fest is sponsored by the Mystery Writers of America, The Key West Citizen and the Florida Keys Council of the Arts.
