The 2013 Ngaio Marsh Award for the best crime, mystery, or thriller novel written by a New Zealand citizen or resident was given to Paul Thomas for his Tito Ihaka mystery Death on Demand.
The judging panel called the novel "clever, beautifully written, and highly entertaining".
