There was quite a bit of news this week from the television networks developing new crime dramas, many from existing series characters or books.
And while we highlighted a few of these news items, there were still more, which we've collected into this post.
• ABC is developing a drama based on The Secrets of the Tomb: Skull and Bones, the Ivy League, and the Hidden Paths of Power by Alexandra Robbins. Dean Widenmann is writing the script that is said to be centered on a female FBI agent, who was once a member of a secret society, and discovers that her current case is related to her past association with the group.
• ABC has ordered a script for an untitled PI drama featuring a former LAPD homicide detective, whose disabling injury gives him a new ability to solve the most difficult cases. Jason Isaacs is expected to star with Stephen Chin writing.
• ABC has ordered a pilot for the legal thriller Entrapment in which a prosecutor is accused of murder. She turns to her former adversary, a streetwise defense attorney, to defend her. David Wilcox is writing the script.
• TNT has ordered a pilot for Public Morals to star Ed Burns as a late 1960s-era NYPD cop, who knows there is a fine line between good and bad in the department and on the street, and the temptations to cross over that line.
