This past weekend Rupert Penry Jones, star of ITV's crime drama Whitechapel, tweeted that the network had canceled the series.
"Sorry to be the bearer of bad news everyone but ITV don't want any more Whitechapel. That's all folks."
Set in contemporary London, the first season opened with a storyline that followed a copycat serial killer in the Whitechapel district. Whitechapel's fourth season recently concluded in the UK, though hasn't yet aired here.
