Colin Firth is set to star in a film adaptation of the French thriller Three To Kill by Jean-Patrick Manchette. (More about the book, below.) Chistopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) will direct a screenplay written by Howard Rodman.
Published in 1976 as Le Petit Bleu de la Côte Ouest, it wasn't until 2002 — six years after the author's death — that it was translated into English. A graphic novel adaptation, West Coast Blues, was published in 2009.

Three To Kill
Jean-Patrick Manchette
A Suspense Thriller
Late one night in Paris, travelling salesman Georges Gerfaut stops to help an injured motorist to hospital. Three days later, while Gerfaut is on holiday with his wife and daughters, he is attacked by two men. Quickly realizing the duo's murderous intent, but perplexed as to their motives, Gerfaut goes on the run, communicating with his family by telegram.
Terrified, yet exhilarated by this release from his humdrum life, Gerfaut resolves to turn the tables and track down his pursuers.
