We recently wrote about Ovation airing early seasons of the Canadian crime drama Murdoch Mysteries and today at MIPCOM the cable network announced that it had acquired all seven seasons of the series from producers Shaftesbury and ITV Studios.
"The Detective Murdoch series has proven to be popular with broadcasters worldwide that are looking for quality drama for their schedules," said Craig Bohland, ITV's vice president of sales, USA and Canada in a statement. "And we're delighted that Ovation's viewers will also have the opportunity to watch this fantastic show."
Murdoch Mysteries, which stars Yannick Bisson as police detective William Murdoch, who uses new forensic techniques to solve crimes in turn of the 20th century Toronto and is based on a character created by crime novelist Maureen Jennings, airs as The Artful Detective on Ovation. The seventh season of the series recently began airing on CBC in Canada.

Just a correction to your article in the last sentence.
ReplyDelete"The seventh season of the series recently began airing on CTV in Canada."
It should read that it recently began airing on "CBC" not CTV.
Yes, of course, that's what we meant! Thanks for the correction. (The post has been updated.)
