New Teaser Poster for Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

Given the news that Tom Clancy died this morning, it is probably a bit unfortunate that a teaser poster for a film based on one of his characters was also released today. However, as we mourn the loss of a legendary writer, we celebrate that his characters and ideas continue on to delight and entertain us.

With that said, a new poster has been released by SkyDance Productions for the action thriller Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (right; click for larger image).

Chris Pine stars as Jack Ryan, a Moscow-based financial analyst in this prequel that takes place before he joins the CIA, who faces off against his employer when he discovers a plot to finance a terrorist attack designed to collapse the U.S. economy.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh from an original screenplay by Adam Cozad and David Koepp and based on a character created by Tom Clancy, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit opens in theaters December 25, 2013.
