Telemystery: TNT Cancels King & Maxwell

Telemystery Prime Time Crime: Mystery and Suspense on Television

TNT has canceled its freshman series King & Maxwell after one season. Starring Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn, the characters are based on those created by crime novelist David Baldacci.

We admit we bailed on King & Maxwell early. The actors were — in our opinion — completely miscast and the weakly plotted scripts never gave them the opportunity to generate the kind of rapport that is necessary to keep viewers interested over the long term.

  1. Hello,

I often enjoy information about mystery books, shows and movies on your site. I really liked "King and Maxwell" and wonder if possibly this site's previous comments about not liking the actors for the parts, etc., may have unfairly influenced others. I found as the season went on, the backstory became very interesting and the relationship between the two main characters became clearer and evolved. The actor who played their assistant was also an interesting addition. I'll miss it!
