Fox Television has renewed its interest in a series based of the film Man on Fire, itself an adaptation of the 1980 thriller by A. J. Quinnell, which stars Denzel Washington as an ex-CIA operative who takes on an assignment as a bodyguard for the daughter of a wealthy industrialist in Mexico City.
The project was first set up under Tony Scott, who directed the film, but was shelved following his death last year.
David DiGilio (Traveler) is writing and producing this latest iteration, which is expected to take place 18 years after the events of the film, with Creasy joining up with his former charge to take down the cartel responsible for the original crime.
