Scholastic To Publish Dog Detective Mystery Series for Kids by Spencer Quinn

Peter Abrahams, writing as Spencer Quinn, will write a middle-grade mystery series featuring a dog detective, to be published by Scholastic.

The series will pair an 11-year-old girl named Jolene with her dog Bowser. In the first unnamed book of the series, scheduled to be published in 2015, when a prize stuffed marlin is stolen from her Grammy's bait and tackle shop along the Louisiana coast, Jolene and Bowser decide to take the case. But what looks like a straight-forward break-in soon becomes as tangled as a tourist's fishing line.

Abrahams is the author of the Agatha Award-winning Echo Falls series for young readers. As Quinn, he writes the Chet and Bernie mysteries for adults.
