Review: Circle of Shadows by Imogen Robertson

Mysterious Reviews: Reviews of New Mysteries, Novels of Suspense, and Thrillers

A Mysterious Review of Circle of Shadows by Imogen Robertson. A Gabriel Crowther and Harriet Westerman Mystery.

Review summary: There are so many strengths in this historical mystery that it almost seems unfair to point out some of the notable weaknesses. On the plus side, it is beautifully written, with descriptive language and a flowing narrative. On the minus side, there are too many tangential subplots and the setting is more artificial than real.
