Telemystery Prime Time Crime: Mystery and Suspense on Television

The nominees for the 65th Emmy Awards were announced yesterday, with nominations going to only four series that we follow:

Bates Motel — Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series (Vera Farmiga)

Game of Thrones — Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series (Diana Rigg)
Game of Thrones — Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Emilia Clarke)
Game of Thrones — Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Peter Dinklage)
Game of Thrones — Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series ("The Rains of Castamere")

Homeland
— Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series ("Q&A")
Homeland — Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series (Rupert Friend)
Homeland — Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Damian Lewis)
Homeland — Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series (Claire Danes)
Homeland — Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Morena Baccarin)
Homeland — Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Mandy Patinkin)
Homeland — Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series ("Q&A")

House of Cards
— Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series ("Chapter 1")
House of Cards — Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Kevin Spacey)
House of Cards — Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series (Robin Wright)

Two series we don't follow — but probably should — also received multiple nominations, Breaking Bad and Scandal. It's likely both these series will be added to the Telemystery database at some point.

What is unusual about this year's nominations are that, for the first time, a television series developed to be watched online, i.e. House of Cards, is recognized.
