Earlier this week we learned that Sam Mendes would return to direct the 24th "James Bond" film. Not only was Skyfall, the most recent film in the franchise and one which he directed, a critical success it was a commercial one as well, the first of the series to pass the $1 billion mark at the box office.
Now we're learning that the screenplay, written by John Logan, will be adapted from the 2008 novel Devil May Care by Sebastian Faulks. Chronologically, the storyline — more details, below — is set in 1967 not long after the events of The Man with the Golden Gun, which was the penultimate book to be written by Ian Fleming to feature James Bond. Presumably, given that Craig Daniels will play the part and there would be a issue of continuity, the timeframe will be updated to the present.
James Bond 24 is set to open in theaters November 6th, 2015.
