Telemystery: NBC Renews Hannibal for a Second Season

Telemystery Prime Time Crime: Mystery and Suspense on Television

In a move that surprised us, NBC has renewed Hannibal for a second season of 13 episodes, which will likely air no earlier than Spring 2014.

"We're so proud of [executive producer] Bryan [Fuller]'s vision for a show that is richly textured, psychologically complex, and very compelling," said NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke. "There are many great stories still to be told."

Based on characters created by crime novelist Thomas Harris, Hannibal stars Will Graham as a gifted criminal profiler, who enlists the help of Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen), one of the premier psychiatric minds in the country … and also a serial killer, to help him solve crimes.
