49th Shelf Hosts a Round Table Discussion for the Arthur Ellis Award Best Novel Nominees

The winners of the annual Arthur Ellis Awards will be announced this week, and the folks at 49th Shelf asked the nominees for Best Novel and Best First Novel to participate in a round table discussion.

This morning four of the five nominees for Best Novel — Linwood Barclay, Giles Blunt, Stephen Miller, and Carsten Stroud — discuss various aspects of writing crime fiction including what is the best season for murder, what is the oddest end for a character, and a terrific open-ended question (which we're tempted to adopt for our own future interviews), "If you are a mystery writer, you are also …".
