Season Eight

Andy Griffith stars as Atlanta defense attorney Ben Matlock in this eighth — and penultimate — season of the long-running courtroom and crime drama.

One episode of this season, "The P.I.", was written as a pilot for a spin-off featuring George Peppard as Max Morgan, a Los Angeles private investigator. Sadly, Peppard died just two months after the episode aired.

Matlock Season Eight aired on ABC from September 1993 through May 1994.
