Drive, Adapted from a Thriller by James Sallis, Opens in Theaters Friday, September 16th

Drive (2011)

Ryan Gosling stars as Driver in the film adaptation of James Sallis's 2005 thriller Drive. The film opens in theaters this Friday, September 16th.

Drive is the story of a Hollywood stunt driver by day, a loner by nature, who moonlights as a top-notch getaway driver-for-hire in the criminal underworld. He finds himself a target for some of LA's most dangerous men after agreeing to aid the husband of his beautiful neighbor, Irene (Carey Mulligan). When the job goes dangerously awry, the only way he can keep Irene and her son alive is to do what he does best — drive!

The film, directed by Nicholas Winding Refn, the winner of the Best Director at this year's Cannes Film Festival, also stars Bryan Cranston as Driver's mechanic, who provides him with souped-up cars to use in addition to dreaming of working with him (legitimately) on a NASCAR team.
