CBS has acquired a television series project based on a character in the "Mommy Track" series of mysteries by Ayelet Waldman. The first of seven books in the series, Nursery Crimes, was published by Berkley Prime Crime in 2000.
The "Mommy Track" mysteries feature Juliet Applebaum, who has given up her career as a public defender to stay home with her daughter Ruby. Pregnant with her second child, she's bored with playdates and trips to the park. That is, until she finds a way to spice up motherhood — with murder …
Waldman will write the pilot script, though it's unknown if it will be adapted directly from any of the books in the series.

I don't read a lot of mysteries. Go figure but this sounds really interesting! :)
