AMC announced today the premiere date for the second season of The Walking Dead — October 16th, 2011 — and also released a new, four-plus minute trailer for the series, which we've embedded below.
The storyline is expected to pick up where the first season ended, with Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) waking up from a coma to discover that the world as knows it is gone, ravaged by a zombie epidemic.
The series is adapted from "The Walking Dead" graphic novels by Robert Kirkman.
