The opening title sequence to a series is rapidly becoming a lost art form -- what with commercial television trying to cram as many ads as possible into their shows -- that it is a real treat to see the stunning video that opens HBO's Game of Thrones, which premiered last night. Depicting the kingdoms that are vying for control of the Iron Throne, it is brilliant in and of itself. Watch it for yourself below.

Agreed. The title sequence is as epic and deserving as the show. The cogs building the kingdoms up look brilliant. On a gigantic HD TV, you get a whoosh in the stomach when flying over the map up to the wall!
