Macmillan Announces Launch of New Crime Website, The Criminal Element

Macmillan announced today a new crime and mystery-focused community website, CriminalElement.com.

The site will feature pre-release novel excerpts, original short stories from various authors, topical blog posts, and will eventually be offering downloads and podcasts. Categories include typical crime novel genres (detective and procedural, traditional and cozy, thriller and noir) but also historical and western, true crime and non-fiction. We also saw references to the increasingly popular categories of crime comics and graphic novels when we visited the site.

"This is not a typical review or promotions site," says Liz Edelstein, Senior Manager and editor at Macmillan Community Network. "We think of CriminalElement.com as a community for fans, by fans, and the focus is on editorial content rather than on marketing."
