In a press release today, the Mystery Writers of America (MWA) announced that Lee Child has been elected its president and will serve a one-year term beginning this month. Child will succeed Harlan Coben. Child is a New York Times best-selling author of the Jack Reacher series, published in 43 countries and 30 languages worldwide.
The MWA Board of Directors also elected Frankie Y. Bailey to serve as Executive Vice President and Larry Light as Treasurer. Each will serve a one year term ending in February 2010.
