The Associated Press is reporting this morning that an analyst with Citi Investment Research estimated that Amazon.com sold 500,000 Kindles last year.
Given that the Kindle seems perpetually out of stock, that is quite an achievement, selling almost 10,000 a week. Noting that the current wait time is 3 to 5 weeks to receive one, that suggests there are still 30,000 or so names on the waiting list.
