A Mysterious Review of From the Queen by Carolyn Hart. A Bibliomystery Short Story.

Review summary: The plot unfolds quickly in this bibliomystery short story but with enough time to present several suspects for the theft of a rare book for consideration. The resolution to the crime is cleverly revealed, with series character Annie Darling playing the role of amateur sleuth. A strong addition to this collection. (Click here for text of full review.)

Nobody's sorry he's dead — with one exception. A ruthless, unscrupulous businessman, notorious womanizer, and heartless father, he turned his back on his only legitimate son after the boy's grandfather abused him. So when Spites's body is found in a dark alley in Coyote Springs, the question is not who killed him, but what took so long?

Jason Crow, rancher, vintner, and double amputee, is invited to help find his biological father's murderer. He has no idea just how personal the quest is about to become. The list of suspects includes his half-brothers, Harden Spites and Kelvin Dodge, as well as Brayton's alcoholic widow, Dolly Dodge. Then there's Neldona Chance, a prostitute with a heart of gold, who shared a complex relationship with Brayton, Harden, and Kelvin.

Bodies pile up. Family tensions rise. Tempers reach the breaking point when the sheriff comes to arrest Jason's grieving and emotionally fragile mother for the murder of the profligate man she never stopped loving.

When Robert Walking Bear's body is found in the Wind River mountains, his death appears to be accidental — except for the fact that he had been hunting for Butch Cassidy's buried loot with a map he had gotten from his grandfather, a map believed to have been drawn by the leader of the Hole in the Wall gang himself.

It isn't long before rumors circulate that Robert was murdered by his own cousins to get the map and find the treasure themselves. Despite there being no evidence of foul play, the gossip gains credibility when both Vicky and Father John are contacted by an anonymous Arapaho claiming to have witnessed Robert's killing.

When one of Robert's cousins falls prey to another deadly accident, Vicky and Father John are convinced the victim is the witness who confided in them, and the hunt for the killer is on in earnest — before more die in search of Cassidy's cache.

Telemystery: New Trailer for Longmire Season 4 on Netflix

Longmire Season 4

The fourth season of Longmire is coming exclusively to Netflix on September 10th, 2015 and the streaming service has now released a new, full-length trailer for the series (below).

Based on a character created by crime novelist Craig Johnson, the series stars Robert Taylor as Walt Longmire, the dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming.

"Season 4 is about second chances," said Greer Shephard, executive producer of Longmire. "Who you are as a person is defined by how you handle the second chance. Netflix has incorporated that theme in their campaign. There are a lot of ways in which people can rebuild themselves after devastating experiences. There are horrific loopholes with their tribal police and courts where they can't prosecute non-natives that commit crimes on the nation."

The first three seasons of Longmire, which originally aired on A&E, are also available to watch on Netflix.
