Episodes 25-27
He's got no style, he's got no flash and hes squarely in middle age. But Swedish detective Martin Beck is good at one thing: methodically catching criminals so that they can be put away … for a long time. His tightly-wound partner, Gunvald, is his opposite: an impulsive man who cuts a dashing figure, is in no way politically correct and who never met a boundary he didnt leap across. He'll do anything to get information from a suspect, including enhanced interrogation techniques. It's classic good cop/bad cop, and together with their team they bring down dangerous criminals lurking in the seedy Stockholm underworld. Off the job, Becks a loner but hes not anti-social; he regularly sees his daughter, with whom he now has a much better relationship than when he was neglecting her growing up. And at the end of a workday, there's always an interesting conversation and a nightcap with a neighbor who gives new meaning to the word quirky.
EPISODE 25: THE EYE OF THE STORM
When the charred remains of a woman are found, the Swedish Security Services suspect Gunvald Larsson of involvement in her murder. They order Martin to arrest Gunvald, putting his long-standing loyalty to his friend to the test.
EPISODE 26: BURRIED ALIVE
Martin and his team get caught in a cat-and-mouse game with a killer who buries his victims alive in wooden boxes. As the boxes and bodies build up, they realize the sadist continues to stay one step ahead.
EPISODE 27: ROOM 302 Beck's team meets their new boss as the body of a young woman is found in a Stockholm hotel room. Against Gunvald's advice, the boss insists on sending in a SWAT team and blames the disastrous results on Martin.
Episodes 28-31
EPISODE 28: THE FAMILY
Martin investigates a gangland shooting in which a kingpin is shot and killed at home in front of his family. Gunvald finds himself getting too close to the victim's widow.
EPISODE 29: THE INVASION
Two bodies buried outside Stockholm remain unidentified, until Becks team finds reason to believe they were victims of an internal conflict within an terrorist cell.
EPISODE 30: THE HOSPITAL MURDERS
Beck investigates after an elderly woman dies in a Stockholm hospital under mysterious circumstances. The primary suspect is her oncologist, who seems genuinely shocked by the results of her autopsy.
EPISODE 31: GUNVALD
An investigative journalist is found beaten to death in his home, where the fingerprints of a notorious criminal debt collector are also found. Beck's investigation takes an unexpected and tragic turn.
Episodes 32-34
EPISODE 32: STEINAR
An unidentified body is found in the remains of a fire in a run-down trailer park. In the middle of the investigation an internal power struggle grips Becks team, making an already difficult case even harder.
EPISODE 33: END OF THE ROAD
In a quiet suburb, a former police officer, his wife and their 10-year-old son are brutally murdered in their home. Becks team finds fingerprints at the crime scene from a criminal who was involved in a robbery four years ago.
EPISODE 34: THE LAST DAY
Two traffic officers try to stop a car for speeding. The driver gets out and shoots, killing one of them in cold blood. A national search for the ruthless killer ensues, with Becks team in the lead.

Season Four
In 1897, Reid has given up his detective work and lives in Hampton-on-Sea with Matilda. When his old friend Isaac is accused of murder, he is drawn back to Whitechapel to investigate.
Meanwhile Drake is now head inspector of Whitechapel and still employs Jackson who has given up his drinking and gambling in order to save money to free Susan from prison.
