A Mysterious Review of Brilliance by Marcus Sakey.

Review summary: It is obvious while reading this thriller that the author wrote it to be the first in a film franchise. Everything about it is cinematic in style and scope, from its (thin and relatively undeveloped) characters and its iconic settings to its dynamic and visually exciting action scenes. New Red Band Trailer for 22 Jump Street

A new red band (for language) trailer has been released by Columbia Pictures for the action comedy 22 Jump Street (embedded, below).

After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don't have to just crack the case — they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.

We generally liked 21 Jump Street more than we didn't — read Mr. E.'s review, here — and while we aren't waiting with bated breath for this sequel to come out, we certainly plan on seeing it when it does (or more likely when it comes out on DVD).

Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller from an original screenplay by Michael Bacall, 22 Jump Street opens in theaters Summer 2014.
