Telemystery: Teaser Trailer for HBO's True Detective

HBO has released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming crime drama True Detective (embedded, below).

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson star as detectives Rust Cohle and Martin Hart, whose lives collide and entwine during a seventeen-year manhunt for a serial killer in Louisiana. The story opens in 2012 and flashes back to the year of the murders in 1995. Eight episodes will comprise the first season.

HBO has indicated that True Detective will be an anthology series, that is, if renewed for a second season, would have a different cast involved in a different murder investigation.

No premiere date was provided by the cable network other than "2014".

Telemystery: ITV Orders Third Season of DCI Banks

ITV has ordered a third season of DCI Banks, starring Stephen Tompkinson as the titular character, and based on a character created by crime novelist Peter Robinson.

Three two-part episodes will be filmed, each adapted from a Robinson book: Wednesday's Child, Piece of My Heart, and Bad Boy.

"DCI Banks has become a firm favorite amongst the ITV Drama audience and I'm very pleased we have commissioned a third series," said Steve November, ITV's Director of Drama Commissioning. "The new stories will pose searching questions for Banks as ultimately he's forced to take extreme action to keep his team together."

Filming will take place in Yorkshire and begins in August 2013.
