MysteryeBooks: More Titles for our $2.99 or Less Weekly Update
It hasn't even been six hours since we published our weekly update of 100 Kindle mystery books priced $2.99 or less and we're already adding a few more new titles to the list, ones we probably should have caught earlier but didn't.
All three of these books (below) are from established mystery authors, two of them firsts in new series, the third a mystery featuring both of the author's series characters.
And while we typically only feature Kindle books here, one of these titles is also available from iTunes (and hence we have a link for that as well).
Telemystery: MTV Developing Series Adapted from YA Romantic Thriller
Now here's a cable network we typically don't associate with Telemystery: MTV. And yet, that very same network is developing a mystery drama adapted from the young adult romantic thriller Blackwood by Gwenda Bond. (More information about the book, below.) Peter Calloway is writing the script for Lionsgate Television productions.
Telemystery: ABC Cancels 666 Park Avenue and Last Resort
ABC has canceled two of its new Fall Season series: 666 Park Avenue and Last Resort.
We're not much on paranormal elements in crime dramas (or books) and actually didn't watch any episodes of the former show. The latter, however, had potential and we're a little disappointed that the storyline won't be moving forward.
Keep up to date on the status of your favorite mystery and suspense television with our Telemystery Scoresheet. We've updated it with today's news.
Today's Bestselling Free Kindle MystereBooks (121117)
Here is today's list of the Bestselling Free Kindle Crime Fiction: the top nine mysteries, novels of suspense, and thrillers.

MystereBooks: This Week's Update of Kindle Crime Fiction Priced $2.99 or Less (121117)
Every month Amazon publishes a list of 100 Kindle books priced $3.99 or less. We thought we'd take that idea and improve on it, publishing a list of 100 Kindle mystery books priced $2.99 or less and updating it every week!
Here is our general criteria for selecting titles to include: books from major or specialty publishers of crime fiction and those written by authors familiar to us. There are far more than 100 to choose from, so we use our best judgment to narrow it down.
And just a reminder … as we add new titles, older ones are removed from the list. These books aren't likely to be repeated, so we encourage you to check in frequently!
A note or two (or three) before we get started …
• Earlier this week we wrote about the first five books in the "Blaine McCracken" series of thrillers by Jon Land being released by Open Road. These are currently priced at $2.99 and would otherwise qualify for inclusion in our weekly update, but we thought that since we had already mentioned them, especially so recently, we wouldn't repeat them here. For a quick look at all five titles, use this link.
• Accent Press has the five books in the "TV Detective" series by Simon Hall, each priced at $2.99. See a list of these mysteries here. (We haven't included them on our list, but may do so during the coming week.)
• Accent Press has another series of books, the "Trevor Joseph" mysteries by Katherine John, most priced at $2.99 though one is currently free and another just 99 cents … however this last one is quite short, at best a novella. See a list of these titles here. (As with the Simon Hall books, we haven't included them on our list, but are considering a separate post and update for them later.)
Setting aside the 17 books mentioned in the three bullets above, our list today isn't all that long!
