Mr. E. Reviews Vera Set 2
If you enjoyed the first season of this British series, based on characters created by crime novelist Ann Cleeves, you'll absolutely want to see this second one. The actors seem more comfortable in their roles, which translates here into better performances. Too, this season, the screenplays are all first rate, something any fan of crime dramas will appreciate.

Mysterious Press has released the seven titles in the "Nero Wolfe" series by Robert Goldsborough this week in ebook format.
Goldsborough continued the series made famous by Rex Stout in 1986 with Murder in E Minor. It went on to win the Nero Award for literary excellence in the mystery genre. Most recently, he published a prequel to the series as whole, Archie Meets Nero Wolfe (Mysterious Press, November 2012).
In the mid-2000s, Goldsborough published three historical mysteries featuring Chicago Tribune reporter Steve "Snap" Malek.
Below, we're providing a list of the seven books being released by Mysterious Press today, with a synopsis from the first in the series.

The CW is developing a crime drama based on the "Jane Whitefield" mysteries by Thomas Perry. According to Deadline, Carol Mendelsohn (the "CSI" franchise) will produce a screenplay by Natalie Chaidez (In Plain Sight).

Amazon's TV Deal of the Week: The Walking Dead, Seasons 1 and 2
This week's Amazon TV Deal of the Week are the first two seasons of The Walking Dead (both DVD and Blu-ray formats).
The Walking Dead is adapted from the graphic novels by Robert Kirkman. It premiered on AMC in October 2010, and has been not only the cable network's highest rated show, but some episodes are often the highest rated on all of cable.
Here's a "new to the show" summary of the series: Waking up in an empty hospital after weeks in a coma, County Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) finds himself utterly alone. The world as he knows it is gone, ravaged by a zombie epidemic. The Walking Dead tells the story of the weeks and months that follow after the apocalypse, an epic, edge-of-your-seat drama where personal struggles are magnified against a backdrop of moment-to-moment survival. A survivalist story at its core, the series explores how the living are changed by the overwhelming realization that those who survive can be far more dangerous than the mindless walkers roaming the earth. They themselves have become the walking dead.
