Watch a 4-Minute Recap of Games of Thrones Season 2 Episodes 1-3

Game of Thrones (HBO)

If you've missed the first three episodes of Game of Thrones — or simply want a short recap — HBO has released a four-plus minute summary of Season 2's story so far; we've embedded the video below.

Adapted from the novels in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series by George R. R. Martin, the second season of Game of Thrones is currently airing on Sundays on HBO.

New Spanish-Language Poster for The Raven

The Raven (2012)

A new Spanish-language international poster for the murder mystery The Raven has been released by the studio (right; click for larger version). There are some nice visuals in this poster. The film's title: El Cuervo: Guia para un Asesino (which we believe to translate as The Raven: Guide to a Murderer.)

The macabre and lurid tales of Edgar Allan Poe are vividly brought to life — and death — in this stylish, gothic thriller starring John Cusack as the infamous author. When a madman begins committing horrific murders inspired by Poe's darkest works, a young Baltimore detective (Luke Evans) joins forces with Poe in a quest to get inside the killer's mind in order to stop him from making every one of Poe's brutal stories a blood chilling reality. A deadly game of cat and mouse ensues, which escalates when Poe's love (Alice Eve) becomes the next target.

The Raven will open in US theaters on April 27th, 2012. Watch a short, recently released, trailer for the film below.

New-ish International Poster for Cold Light of Day

The Cold Light of Day (2012)

A new English-language international poster for the thriller The Cold Light of Day has surfaced online (right; click for slightly larger version). The poster's tagline: "Time is running out. Instinct is his greatest weapon." (We're not exactly sure when this poster was released, or the intended country in which is intended to be displayed. The website listed on the poster is too small to make out the country code, but it looks like Belgium or possibly Brazil.)

Henry Cavill stars as Will Shaw, who arrives in Spain for a week-long sailing vacation with his family. But the stressed young businessman is not in a holiday mood. His start-up company just went under and his tense relationship with his disciplinarian father Martin (Bruce Willis) only makes matters worse. But when the family is kidnapped by what turns out to be intelligence agents hell-bent on recovering a mysterious suitcase, Will suddenly finds himself on the run. His whole world turns upside down when Martin reappears, revealing he is an undercover agent tangled in an intergovernmental web of lies and secrets. During a clandestine rendezvous, Martin is killed by a sniper, and Will must find a way to get the rest of his family back alive.

The Cold Light of Day was originally scheduled to open in US theaters earlier this month, but has been moved back to September 7th, 2012 (though it apparently opened as scheduled on April 6th in the UK). Watch the UK trailer for the film below.

J. K. Rowling to Publish a Harry Potter Encyclopedia

The Harry Potter Encyclopedia

The news is buried a bit on J. K. Rowling's website — on the FAQs and Rumours page — but the author has announced she has started on a Harry Potter encyclopedia. Here is what she has to say:

"For a long time I have been promising an encyclopaedia of Harry's world, and I have started work on this now — some of it forms the new content in Pottermore. It is likely to be a time-consuming job, but when finished I shall donate all royalties to charity."

Just last week Rowling's publisher announced the title and synopsis of her first adult novel, The Casual Vacancy.

The Feasts of Lesser Men by Stephen Parrish

The Feasts of Lesser Men by Stephen Parrish
Publisher: Lascaux Books

About The Feasts of Lesser Men (from the publisher): Germany, 1990: The Berlin Wall has fallen. East and West Germany are discussing reunification. After four and a half decades of cloak-and-dagger intrigue, the Cold War is coming to an end.

Not for Jimmy Fisher, a plans clerk in the American 111th Infantry Division. Fisher black markets cigarettes, steals valuables from the dead, and takes advantage of every weakness he identifies in each living person he meets. Which makes him the perfect target for foreign agents seeking to buy documents.

Forced to make life-or-death choices in an ever heightening conflict between his personal safety and the security of his country, Fisher flees to the Vosges Mountains of France with a woman he trusts. In time he learns that love is worthy of a greater conviction than is loyalty to one's country, and that abstract symbols and arbitrary boundaries are not worth dying for.

Telemystery: New CBS Cop Drama, NYC 22, Premieres Sunday, April 15th

NYC 22 (CBS)

A new cop drama, NYC 22, premieres tomorrow, Sunday April 15th, at 10 PM (ET/PT) on CBS.

NYC 22 follows six NYPD rookies as they patrol the gritty streets of upper Manhattan. The new trainees include Jennifer "White House" Perry, a former college volleyball star and Marine MP in Iraq with a take-charge attitude; Ray "Lazarus" Harper, the oldest rookie and a former police news reporter with better sources than most seasoned cops; Tonya Sanchez, who comes from a family with a criminal history; Ahmad Kahn, an Afghani native who fought his way to freedom; Kenny McClaren, a fourth-generation police officer with great instincts but qualms about joining the force; and Jayson "Jackpot" Toney, a young basketball legend who squandered his opportunity in the NBA.

Their demanding Field Training Officer, Daniel "Yoda" Dean, is a case-hardened, unsentimental veteran of the force who emphasizes basics and holds each cop accountable for their actions. Rounding out the team is Sergeant Terry Howard, a no-nonsense plainclothes officer from the Gang Intel Unit, who trains the rookies on how to keep the gangbangers at bay.

With unique backgrounds, personalities and reasons for being on the force, the new cops will make their share of rookie mistakes while they figure out how to relate to their boss, each other and the people they are sworn to protect.
