Code Blue by Richard Mabry

Code Blue by Richard Mabry
A Prescription for Trouble Medical Thriller
Abingdon Press

This is the first book in a series that the author calls "medical suspense with heart".

About Code Blue (from the publisher): "Code Blue" means more to Dr. Cathy Sewell than the cardiac emergency she has to face. It describes her mental state as she finds that coming back to her hometown hasn't brought her the peace she so desperately needs. Instead, it's clear that someone there wants her gone … or dead.

Cathy returns to her hometown seeking healing after a broken relationship, but discovers that among her friends and acquaintances is someone who wants her out of town … or dead. Lawyer Will Kennedy, her high school sweetheart, offers help, but does it carry a price tag? Is hospital chief of staff Dr. Marcus Bell really on her side in her fight to get hospital privileges? Is Will's father, Pastor Matthew Kennedy, interested in advising her or just trying to get her back to the church she left years ago? When one of Cathy's prescriptions almost kills the town banker, it sets the stage for a malpractice suit that could end her time in town, if not her career. It's soon clear that this return home was a prescription for trouble.

A Bishop Lynn Peterson Mystery (1st in series)
Abingdon Press

About The Dead Saint (from the publisher): It begins with a single gunshot, and Bishop Lynn Peterson watches in horror as a good friend, who is a member of the New Orleans Saints, collapses on the street.

When a medal the player wore — a medal Lynn had promised to return to the man's family — disappears, Lynn is thrust into a suspenseful and fast-moving journey through four assassinations, an attempt on her life, conflicts with a mysterious and ancient society, and a behind-the-scenes conspiracy that reaches all the way to the White House.

The turbulent, unstoppable intrigue challenges Lynn mentally, physically, and spiritually as she engages in a desperate battle with an opponent who is just as determined to kill as Lynn is to stop him even though she has no idea where — or who — he will strike next.

Moving is Murder by Sara Rosett

Moving is Murder by Sara Rosett
An Ellie Avery Mystery
Kensington

This first in the "Mom Zone" series that currently numbers six introduces Ellie Avery, a military spouse who is also a professional organizer.

About Moving is Murder (from the publisher): Moving four times in five years has honed Ellie's considerable skills. But moving with a newborn daughter and husband Mitch in tow, a record-breaking heat wave, and the realization that their dream neighborhood is known as Base Housing East is enough to make her turn to chocolate for comfort. Now half of their neighbors are with the 52nd Air Refueling Squadron. Forget privacy.

Forget peace of mind, too. Driving home from her first squadron barbecue, Ellie finds neighborhood environmental activist Cass Vincent dead on the side of the road. The police call it an accident — Cass, fatally allergic, was stung by wasps — but Ellie's not so sure. And when it looks like Mitch's best friend might be a suspect in the murder, Ellie starts snooping in earnest. What she finds shocks her — and when suspicious "accidents" start happening in her own backyard, Ellie realizes she's getting closer to the killer … maybe too close!

Action Thriller Series Aim High Premieres Today Online

Aim High (2011)

After school jobs are a killer. At least they are for Nick Green (Jackson Rathbone) in Aim High, a new "social" action thriller series that premiered online earlier today.

Aim High is the story of a young man leading a double life — juggling his studies by day and serving as a government agent by night. This series chronicles the life of Nick Green, a high school junior who's just starting a new school year as one of the country's 64 highly trained teenage operatives. When he's not handling international spies, Nick is dreaming of Amanda Miles (Aimee Teegarden), the most popular girl in school, who's cool, intelligent and very alluring.

Cambio and Facebook users can become part of the show through seamlessly integrating their profile information — including photos, text and friends — by simply opting into the application on the show's page.

A "Meet the Cast and Crew of Aim High" summary is available, as are the first two episodes (each about 10 minutes in length); both have an option to watch without disclosing any personal information.

Telemystery: A&E Orders a Third Season of The Glades

The Glades (A&E)

A&E has renewed its crime drama The Glades for a third season.

The series stars Matt Passmore as Jim Longworth, a transplated Chicago homicide detective, now working in sunny — but clearly dangerous, what with a murder to solve every week — Florida.

The third season will premiere in Summer 2012 along with the cable network's new crime drama Longmire, based on a character created by crime novelist Craig Johnson.
