Foyle's War "The Hide" Airs Tomorrow on PBS Masterpiece Mystery!

Foyle's War Set 6
More information about the DVD

Tomorrow, Sunday May 16th, the third and final episode of the sixth series of Foyle's War airs on PBS Masterpiece Mystery! (Check your local listings to confirm the time.)

In the opening scene of "The Hide", Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle (Michael Kitchen) leaves the Hastings police station for the last time with the ambition to sail to America. A glance at a newspaper headline about a treason trial inexplicably draws Foyle's attention into one final case he can't leave alone. Former POW James Devereaux, part of a prominent local family, is charged with switching sides and aiding the Germans during the war, and will likely hang for his crimes. After repeated jail visits, Foyle is unable to extract details or a motive from Devereaux, making the case all the more intriguing. Why is the POW so reticent to reveal evidence that may exonerate him? Meanwhile, Detective Inspector Paul Milner (Anthony Howell) is investigating the case of a young woman who has been strangled, while Samantha "Sam" Stewart (Honeysuckle Weeks) and Paul Wainwright are trying to save their failing guest house and stave off new development plans in Hastings. One thing is clear — Foyle's departure isn't destined to be an easy one, in a case that promises to be the most personal of all.

We've already seen "The Hide", courtesy of an advance copy of the DVD from Acorn Media, and found it to be brilliant, the best of the three episodes included in this set. We'll have our full review when Foyle's War Set 6 is released on June 1st. DVD sets of the previous series are available on our website Mysteries on TV: Foyle's War, as individual sets and as the complete set, Foyle's War: From Dunkirk to VE-Day.

Executive Privilege by Phillip Margolin
More Information About Executive Privilege by Phillip Margolin

About Executive Privilege (from the publisher): When private detective Dana Cutler is hired to follow college student Charlotte Walsh, she never imagines the trail will lead to the White House. But the morning after Walsh's clandestine meeting with Christopher Farrington, President of the United States, the pretty young coed is dead-the latest victim, apparently, of a fiend dubbed "the D.C. Ripper."

A junior associate in an Oregon law firm, Brad Miller is stunned by the death row revelations of convicted serial killer Clarence Little. Though Little accepts responsibility for a string of gruesome murders, he swears he was framed for one of them: the death of a teenaged babysitter who worked for then-governor Farrington.

Suddenly nowhere in America is safe for a small-time private eye and a fledgling lawyer who possess terrifying evidence that suggests the unthinkable: that someone at the very highest level of government, perhaps the president himself, is a cold and brutal killer.
