Gillian Anderson will star as a Metropolitan detective superintendent sent to Belfast to conduct a review of a high profile murder case in BBC's upcoming The Fall. Written by Allan Cubitt, the crime drama will follow a police investigation that uncovers the intricate story of lives entangled by a series of murders, from both the perspective of the killer's and victim's families.
"The Fall is a unique, forensic and characterful take on a classic genre that continues BBC Two's commitment to original British drama in 2012," said Ben Stephenson, Controller, BBC Drama Commissioning. "Cubitt's rich and complex psychological thriller combined with another compelling performance from Gillian Anderson will keep viewers on the edge of their seats."
Filming on the 5-episode series is expected to begin in Belfast in March 2012.

Publisher: Jeff Shelby
Written by the author of the Noah Braddock mysteries, this stand-alone may be the first of a new series. "Joe will be around for awhile," the author writes on his website.
About Thread of Hope (from the publisher): If someone took your child, how soon would you stop looking for her? If someone accused your best friend of a terrible crime, when would you stop defending him?
Seven years after Joe Tyler’s daughter Elizabeth was abducted, he hasn’t stopped looking for answers, and he hasn’t forgotten the friend who stood by him as he lost his wife, his home, and his career in his search. Now he’s been brought back to San Diego by the news that this friend has been arrested for beating up a teenage girl—a girl not much older than Elizabeth would be now.
Joe is convinced Chuck Winslow is innocent, but Chuck is in a coma and can’t explain what happened. And the more Joe hears about what Chuck’s been up to in the years he’s been gone, the less Joe recognizes his old friend. To find out the truth, he will have to face his ex-wife, his former bosses, and a hometown full of wealth, lies, and illicit privilege. When Chuck’s accuser goes missing, Joe must decide where his loyalties truly lie.

Dying for a Change by Kathleen Delaney
An Ellen McKenzie Mystery
Publisher: PublishAmerica
This first mystery (of four to date) in a series introduces Santa Louisa (California) real estate agent Ellen McKenzie.
About Dying for a Change (from the publisher): Nothing ever happened in Santa Louisa, which was why Ellen McKenzie, divorce decree in one hand, new real estate license in the other, went home. Peace was what she needed, and time to figure out if forty is too late to start a new life. The town she remembered isn’t the same. A huge big box store wants to build and the town is sharply divided about its coming. Each side has drawn up battle plans. If that isn’t enough, Ellen makes an appointment to show her first house in her new real estate career and instead of a client finds the body of a man, beaten to death, in the walk-in closet. Could Hank Sawyer’s death have something to do with the new store’s coming? Hank was its most ardent supporter. Or could it be more personal? It seems half the staff at Harper’s Land Sales, where Ellen has just started work, had reason to hate Hank. Why? Ellen finds out all too quickly the real reason Hank was murdered and almost loses her own life.

A John Marlin "Blanco County" Mystery
Publisher: Minotaur Books/CreateSpace
This second mystery in the series is an "an over-the-top tale of sex, mayhem and murder in Texas's hill country." (Publisher's Weekly, 2002.)
About Bone Dry (from the publisher): Life can get a little wild from time to time for John Marlin— game warden in Blanco County, Texas — but few incidents compare to the stories flying around town at the start of this new deer season. Hunters are reporting an incredible sight: a six-foot-tall, drop-dead gorgeous blonde is roaming the woods, searching out camouflage-clad men with guns and disarming them with powers of seduction the likes of which none of them have ever come across before. Everyone has a hearty laugh at the expense of a few embarrassed hunters, until one of their own turns up dead in the woods. Now Marlin has a real mystery to deal with.
Meanwhile, rumors are spreading about a new Blanco resident, an ex-New Yorker named Sal Mameli who's ruffling feathers with his loud mouth and his penchant for getting his own way, no matter what the cost.
Before long, John Marlin realizes he may be the only sane man in town, and he's starting to wonder if he can last much longer himself. It's just the start of another unforgettable hunting season in Bone Dry.

Sweet Revenge by Nina Bruhns
The New Orleans Trilogy
Publisher: Cajun Hot Press
This second book in this trilogy was the winner of several romantic suspense awards after it was first published in 2001.
About Sweet Revenge (from the publisher): Auri "Creole" Levalois is looking for a killer. Determined to put his foster-brother’s killer behind bars, he has taken a leave of absence from New Orleans PD to hunt the man down. But what he finds instead is a woman who turns his lonely world upside down—and touches him as no other woman had ever done.
Grace Summerville’s identical twin sister has vanished without a trace. Grace has left her cozy Charleston home and high school counselor job, and rushed to New Orleans’ notorious French Quarter, where she discovers a dark, mysterious man watching her from the neighboring balcony.
From the second their eyes meet, Creole and Grace’s attraction burns out of control. But she is wary. She has heard about these hot-blooded Cajun men. They are intense. Passionate, like their music. Nothing remotely similar to the calm, dignified South Carolina gentlemen she is used to. Creole is just the kind of man she desperately needs to avoid.
After days—and nights—of sizzling clashes, where each suspects the other of duplicity, they finally strike a truce and work together to trap the man who is responsible for both terrible crimes. Meanwhile their attraction flames hotter and hotter with each erotic encounter they are helpless to avoid, until at last they end up in each other’s arms.
Closing in on the murderer, the worst happens, and they are trapped in his deadly net. Faced with certain death, will they finally admit to their secret hope for love and a future together?
