Canal Plus, the French pay-TV service, has given a 10-episode order to the UK-based crime drama Spotless. (The series' tagline: "In some families, death is in the blood".)
The storyline is centered on Jean, whose life in the crime scene cleaning business is turned upside down when his brother, Martin, draws him into the deadly dynamics of organized crime.
"Working with [the] Canal Plus drama department has been a very rewarding experience," said executive producer Jonas Bauer. "They have provided the flexibility and open boundaries to develop a series which features an off-color, dark and funny storyline, and edgy characters."
Casting is underway, with principal photography expected to begin in London this Summer.
