Telemystery: Patricia Cornwell To Develop New Crime Drama for ABC

ABC is developing a crime drama based on an original character created by mystery author Patricia Cornwell.

Titled Greta Stone the storyline (according to Deadline) is centered on "a young, orphaned, highly skilled female cop, who has an uncanny ability to solve crimes."

The script is being co-written by Cornwell and Stephanie Sengupta (Law & Order).

Cornwell is probably best known for her Kay Scarpetta mysteries, but she is also the author of two other series featuring recurring characters, one of which — Monique Lamont — was developed into two made-for-television movies starring Andie MacDowell.
