Ben Affleck's next project, which reportedly is going into pre-production today, is the film adaptation of Dennis Lehane's crime novel Live By Night, which was the winner of this year's Edgar Award for Best Novel. Affleck will both direct and star. Warner Bros. acquired the film rights to the book before its publication last year. (More about the book, below.)
This will be Affleck's second involvement with an adaptation of a Lehane novel. In 2007, he directed Gone Baby Gone, which starred his brother, Casey Affleck.
