Telemystery: Ripper Street Renewed for a Second Season

Telemystery Prime Time Crime: Mystery and Suspense on Television

BBC has commissioned a second season (series) of the historical crime drama Ripper Street. Eight episodes have been ordered, which are expected to air in 2014.

"Quality and ambition run through Ripper Street, from Richard Warlow's original scripts, the incredible cast and the captivating direction," said Ben Stephenson, Controller, BBC Drama Commissioning. "All combine to create a period series with a modern and gripping edge that will return for a second series in 2014."

The first season of Ripper Street, set in and around Whitechapel in London's East End in 1889 during the aftermath of the infamous Jack the Ripper murders, is currently airing on BBC America on Saturdays at 9 PM (ET/PT).
