Dick Wolf (Law & Order) is adapting the UK legal thriller Injustice for US television.
Written by Anthony Horowitz, and airing as a 5-part mini-series during Summer 2011, Injustice stars James Purefoy as William Travers, a criminal barrister who is recovering from a traumatic series of events that have shaken his belief in the legal system.
On the surface, Travers is a picture of success; an accomplished criminal barrister happily living with his wife (played by Dervla Kirwan) in rural Suffolk.
However, Travers is still recovering from events in his past when he is drawn into a case that involves his old friend Martin Newall (Nathaniel Parker), who faces conspiracy and murder charges while at the same time being investigated by a vicious and vengeful detective DS Mark Wenborn (Charlie Creed-Miles).
The project is in its early stages and it's not clear whether Wolf intends to develop the US version as a series or mini-series.
Injustice was recently released on DVD by Acorn Media; we have a copy that we'll be reviewing soon. A trailer for the series can be seen below.
