New Poster for Indie Thriller Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home (2012)

A new — or at least a different — poster has been released for the indie thriller Home Sweet Home (right; click for larger version). The poster's tagline: "Sometimes you are not welcome." (We get it, but it seems a little weak … though we do like the suspense evoked by the ajar door. The doormat is a bit Halloween-ish, though.)

Alexandra Boylan stars as Gwen Stevens, a lone woman who battles two psychotic squatters for her home … and her life.

Job, parents, money, apartment — Gwen has lost everything. Seeking to regain control of her quickly disintegrating life, Gwen returns to her remote childhood home to sift through her past and focus on finding new direction. Her quest for control is quickly challenged when she discovers that the house that was once her sanctuary is now someone else's domain — and she is not welcome. Two psychotic squatters leave Gwen terrorized, tormented, and far from help. Gwen's retreat devolves into a battle for her home and, ultimately, a desperate fight for her life.

The film is directed by John K. D. Graham from an original screenplay by Andrew Boylan. No release date is given for the film — it appears to us to have been made at least a year or two ago and is almost certainly is destined to be direct to DVD — but a trailer is available on the studio website. (We couldn't find an embeddable version.)
