This past summer, the Canadian crime drama Flashpoint was renewed for a fifth season by CTV and now we're learning that ION Television has picked up the season as well to air in the US.
The series revolves around the fictional Strategic Response Unit (SRU), which is modeled after an elite tactital unit within the Toronto Police, and composed of highly specialized officers trained to use any means possible other than deadly force to resolve tense crime situations.
CBS aired the first few seasons of the series in the US before ION acquired the rights to the entire series. ION is currently airing episodes from the fourth season.
