NBC has ordered a series project based on the Ezekiel "Easy" Rawlins mysteries by Walter Mosley. The first book in the series, Devil in a Blue Dress, was honored with the 1991 CWA New Blood Dagger and was made into a 1995 film starring Denzel Washington as the Los Angeles private eye.
The project is being developed by John Wells (Mildred Pierce, Southland) in association with Warner Bros.
There are 11 books in the Easy Rawlins series. Mosley is expected to help write the script for the series.
